The fall 2008 elections was a momentous time, and as a contract Account Executive at an award-winning political consulting firm in San Francisco, I was in the thick of it. Working with a small team of in-house designers, I developed materials for city-, county-, and state-level campaigns—everything from printed mailers on propositions to blog posts to swag. The goal for each campaign was to enable clients to strengthen community relationships to build consensus. Strategy differed immensely depending on the client, but as a contract Account Executive, my focus was on making sure all campaign materials looked fantastic and contained written content that was stylistically flawless and 100% accurate.
